Remember, it makes you feel supported and respected when others show up to discuss your work, please give your classmates the same support and respect.

CRUCIBLE AND PYRE WRITER’S GROUP RULES

  • If enrolled in the Crucible or Pyre, you will opt in to the next month’s class by the 15th of the month prior. This is a financial commitment as well as a commitment to read and give notes to others engaged in the class.

  • Presenting - you may submit up to 35 pages twice a month OR 1 hour long or 1 feature script a month. You will sign up for your preferred presentation dates by the 20th of the month prior, after receiving your opt-in survey from Sarah Farnam. You may switch dates with another student after sign-up but if you do not attend class you cannot make up the presentation date.

  • In a month’s time you are asked to bring in one story or concept, vs many different stories per month. If this will not work for you, please reach out to Alex to get a waiver to bring in a new concept/script. This is for your peers to prevent burnout.

  • There are no refunds after payment, unless there is illness as decided by a doctor or a death in the family. If you do have to leave for those given reasons you may make up class the next month.

  • There will now be a waiting list to join Pyre. If you do not sign up for the next month, the writer from the top spot on the waiting list will be given the opportunity to opt in. Then you will be able to join the waiting list at the bottom position. Should you not want to lose your spot you are welcome to pay the fee.
